Author's Bio

Sevannah Storm is a fiction writer who immerses herself in fantastical worlds both magical and science fiction. She has a flair for the creative having studied art and interior architecture and spends her time drawing, oil painting, and writing. An avid reader from an early age, Sevannah finds her inspiration from various sources: games, novels, music, and the land of make-believe. The unique versus the practical has brought on numerous debates.

In her spare time, she does Krav Maga and rereads novels that snatch her breath away. Having embraced the social media world, you can find her on most platforms, and she acts as an Ambassador on Wattpad.

Her home is a land south of Wakanda, where animals roam free. Born in Zimbabwe, she grew up in South Africa. The crisp blue skies with cotton-candy sunsets expand her heart and soul, encapsulating a sense of freedom.

Words she lives by: “Know your pothole and dodge it. Don’t work in a pencil factory if you’re a vampire.”

Sevannah loves to hear from her readers. You can find and connect with her at the links below.

Sample Q&A / Tip Sheet

1) What's the best way to handle a bully?
Public shaming. In my husband’s case, he threw a chair at the bully and was left alone. In my children’s case, they made known that they know Krav Maga. Neither has been bullied since.
2) What inspired you to write?
Boredom. I had the option to play games for hours with nothing to show for it, or I could write the repeating dream to get it out of my head. That novel is with a publisher now.
3) If you could gain advice from your favorite author, who would you choose and what would you ask?
Neil Gaiman. I'd ask him what his first thoughts were when he met his significant other.

4) When writing as a beginner, what is the one advice a publisher/agent/editor gave you that impacted your writing style?

There are so many. To write in deep point-of-view, for one. No head-hopping, show vs tell, the usual.
5) What's the best way to enjoy a rainy day?
In front of my desk, rain or shine, writing. I’d like to finish all my WIP before I die.
6) What's your dream vacation?
Sitting at a table writing with an almond cappuccino and a view in front of me. Savanna/beach/city skyline, it doesn’t matter as long as I am writing.
7) If you could hang out with your favorite celeb for a day, who would you choose and what would you do?

I don’t have a favorite celeb. If you asked about a fictitious character, it would be Geralt of Rivia. The stories he could tell!
8) What's a good piece of advice for a newcomer?
Pay for an editor on your first novel. Mine helped me out so much. I didn’t know about Deep POV, showing vs telling, one chapter per POV, adverb/passive voice abuse, limiting my dialogue tags, Oxford comma, etc.
9) What's your favorite snack?
Popcorn, my kryptonite.
10) What's your favorite holiday and why?
Ascension Day because Christ is risen.
11) What are you currently working on?
Mm, besides constantly editing, I plan to write seven books for 2021. My current WIP is a Witcher genderswap in outer space (sci-fi romance).
