Excerpts:

With delicate hands hidden by gloves, she caught the hood between two fingers and flicked it back. His breath lodged in his throat. One of his hearts paused, then hurried to sync with the other. “Revealing your name when no one should know it, then showing me your beauty? Pray, how do you intend to kill me?”

His breath hitched, his hearts stuttered, and a roar engulfed his ears when no underwear covered her s3x. He longed to bury his nose there, to discover whether she smelled of strawberries all over.

Roaring not his own bombarded his ears, and yet, he couldn’t break eye contact. He dipped, closing the distance between her mouth and his. A brush of his lips across hers zinged energy through him. Another sample introduced him to her taste—sweet, smoky, and intoxicating.

This blood vow had trapped him to a female he could never have. One kiss had almost broken his control. But he yearned for more… To have her beneath him, her metallic limb wrapped around his hip, the scent of her strawberries surrounding him, her soft hands stroking his upper arms.

He opened his eyes to take in all of her. To absorb this female beneath him, one who hadn’t complained at his rough handling, and hadn’t minded the heat pouring off him. By her flushed body and her contented sighs, she’d appreciated his efforts.

Reader reviews:

5.0 out of 5 stars Captivating sci-fi romance!
Reviewed in the United States on January 15, 2025
I was locked in from the first page. The tension, the backstory, the relationship between mother and daughter. I was invested! Diaz and Selira were beautiful together. The slow burn of their relationship was worth the wait. 🥵
I love a good HEA for a later-in-life FMC and this ticked all the boxes for me. I'll be waiting patiently for my own Diaz to take home, but in the meantime, I'll settle for a reread. 😅
