Now, if I'm working through your story and stumble upon any of these unexpected twists – especially if we're talking about those intense issues like on-the-page shenanigans involving sexual assault, child abuse, or torture – and you didn't give me a heads-up earlier, I might need to tap the brakes. In this situation, the editing adventure stops, and unfortunately, the deposit won't be making its way back to your pocket.
