She groaned, cupping her face as if her hands could hide her. “I’ve got to go. It was a pleasure meeting you.”
Through the bushes, the man captured her hand, his touch hot, sending a zing of tingles to her elbow. “Wait…” He pressed a kiss to her knuckles and scattered her thoughts. She blinked, dazzled by his silhouette. His lips had imprinted on her skin. “May I call you?”

She raised her hands and unraveled her damp hair. His breath caught. In that one action, she had gone from adorable to sensual. His malehood twitched, growing harder the longer he gazed upon her.

Every muscle in his body had hardened when she'd pressed a kiss to the screen, her lips so close, her silky skin within touching distance but not. Her text had dripped with concern…and fear that he’d forgotten about her. For those reasons, he’d ended the meeting with the queen and called his woman.

“Well, it’s lovely to put a face to the voice.” She hurried to clear her throat after that breathless reply. He chuckled, jarring her heartbeat. Damn. “I have always seen your face, sweetheart.” She gasped and ran her hands over her unbrushed hair. How many times had she been in a similar state, as if a skunk had dragged her through the bushes backward?

“I tremble, I cannot breathe, my heart pounds, and I am harder than our mined rock.” He grinned when pink color splashed across her cheeks again. She licked her lips. The dark depths of her mouth called to him. “If you do not want me to claim you here and now, you will behave.”

He inhaled, flaring his nostrils and drawing her exotic scent deep into his lungs. With a growl, he buried his face in the curve of her neck. He nuzzled her earlobe and brushed kisses along her jaw to slant demandingly across her mouth. He held her to the wall to slip a knee between her legs, spreading her thighs.

A vision of her came next. Her smile, her eyes closed as she feathered kisses across his lips.
He could taste her soft lips, feel her incredible breasts pressed against his chest, the slickness of the heated water, her legs entwined with his.
She purred with pleasure.
He shuddered, tightening his hold on the sword hilt, trying to control the urge to touch her, claim her, right there under Etteria’s pink sky.

He tightened his arms, needing her melded to him. “I would kiss you now, yet I fear I will not stop once I taste you, Macera.” His voice plummeted below guttural as he lowered his gaze to her too-tempting lips.

He bolted, bursting into the rain without stopping to look first, the deluge drenching him in seconds.
She stood there, soaked through, spinning and laughing with her arms outstretched.
Her white tunic was saturated and clung to her body.
He groaned at the sight of her beautiful body visible through the wet garments.
His mouth watered.
“Macera?” he growled, not willing to hide his longing a moment longer.

This was Macera's and Xeus's story. The buildup was slow, but kept me hooked. This story was good and interesting.

Slow burn, wonderful characters, abducted human woman, handsome alien king, entertaining, drama, danger. There's lots of things happening in this book to keep you reading.

I enjoyed the story. It took a while to get to Macy and Xeus and it was worth it. Macy has no self confidence and gets bored easily. She was kidnapped and then escaped with 2 other humans that were taken from Earth. They are picked up by the Etterians and taken to their planet. A wild journey to a new home.
